Life is but a poem…
The rhythms, soul, and blues.
Ode to the stories we tell,
Cheers to the secrets we keep!
And so I welcome you to a series where we meet the past, the present, the future, and transcendence.

In November 22, 2008, I lost my cousin to suicide. But she wasn’t just my prima, but my very best friend. I was 12 years old, and she was 11 years old, and so much life has happened since then. “Dear Nathalia,” is inspired by the lyrics from See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Chris Puth:
“It’s been a long day without you, my friend
And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again”

“Dear Nathalia,” is a letter series to update Nathalia on my life since the last time we were together. There hasn’t been a day that has gone by without me thinking about you. I miss you so much, but never for too long. You have always, and will always, be with me

In my heart.

You never think it’ll happen to you.
Those movies, TV shows, “A mile in her shoes” events, shelters filled with women that
Could never be you
Until it’s all you know.

You never thought that you’d stay
Until you choose to stay every single time.

I’m making the choice on how I want to view the world, on how I want to view myself.
I’m making the choice to fall in love with myself.
I’m making the choice.

I choose me.
I am on my side.

And so, with that being said
This is most recent journey back to myself

I love

And I’m so proud to be able to experience this
To one day experience this with

The Light of My Life

I am writing a series of poetry and prose to my future child(ren). They are such a huge driving force in my life, and the greatest love that I already have. I look at pictures of when I was a child, and see so much potential.

I see them in me.
I am them
We are one.

I’m so excited to have them here with me one day, and so with great anticipation, here’s some of the things I want to tell them right now.
